Joanne Lisosky

Joanne M. Lisosky is a professor of communications at Pacific Lutheran University (PLU). She was a practicing radio, television and print journalist when she shifted careers and opted to instruct others how to tell good stories. During her time at PLU, she has advised the student newspaper and the award-winning student chapter of the Society of Professional Journalists. She has written a book on the protection of journalists in conflict zones, "War on Words: Who Should Protect Journalists?"

Matt Martinez

KNKX - Director of Content

Matt Martinez joined the station in August 2015. Previously, he was Senior Producer for NPR in Washington, D.C. He led a team of producers responsible for developing new show and podcast pilots, supporting live events, and supporting stations in

their fundraising efforts. Matt started at NPR in 2000 as a producer for NPR's afternoon flagship newsmagazine All Things Considered.

Robert McClure

InvestigateWest, Executive Director

Robert is co-founder and executive director of InvestigateWest. At the Seattle Post-Intelligencer, Robert exposed a major weakness in the Endangered Species Act and deficiencies in Puget Sound

restoration efforts. His reporting on hard-rock mining won the John B. Oakes Award for Distinguished Environmental Journalism. A longtime former board member of the Society of Environmental Journalists, he currently serves as chairman of the editorial board of SEJournal, the group’s quarterly publication. Seattle Magazine in 2013 chose him as one of Seattle’s “most influential” people.

Dale Phelps

The News Tribune, Editor and Vice President of News

Dale Phelps is the executive editor and vice president of The News Tribune. He has been an editor at The News Tribune since 1998, and became managing editor in 2008. He has worked on the transition to focus the The News Tribune on online

journalism.

 

Dale is a Kansas City native and has worked in newspapers since 1979, when he joined the Kansas City Star as a clerk. He worked in editing roles in the Star’s sports department until he moved to The News Tribune as sports editor.

Lisa Patterson

South Sound and 425 Magazine, Editor in Chief

Lisa Patterson is the editor in chief of 425 magazine and South Sound magazine. She was a journalism student at Pacific Lutheran University and then spent several years as a newspaper reporter before joining Premier Media Group in

2006. She created and launched 425 Magazine, and also re-branded another magazine into South Sound Magazine. South Sound is the only lifestyle publication exclusively for the South Puget Sound.
